This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we safeguard it.
We collect information in the following ways:

Information related to your use of our website and client portal, such as login credentials, security verification data, and limited technical information (device type, browser, IP address) needed to maintain security and functionality.
Information received from third parties as needed to prepare your return, such as payroll providers or financial institutions, will only be used with your authorization or as permitted by law.
We use your information to:
Prepare, file, and support your federal, state, and local tax returns and related forms.
Communicate with you about your tax matters, appointments, and services, including via email, phone, mail, or portal notifications.
Maintain internal records, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and improve the security and functionality of our services.
We do not sell or rent your personal information or tax return information to anyone for marketing purposes.
We use professional tax preparation software provided by Drake Software to prepare and file your tax returns. In limited circumstances, we may need to share portions of a tax return or related data with Drake Software or other service providers to resolve a technical or software issue, to transmit an electronic return, or to provide support services you request. When we do so, those providers are required to protect your information and to use it only for those limited purposes or as required by law.
Suppose you choose to log in to our client portal or related online services using your Google or Facebook account (“social login”). In that case, those services may authenticate your identity and share with us basic profile information such as your name and email address. We use this information only to create and manage your portal account, verify your identity, and provide access to your documents and tax information.
Your use of Google or Facebook is also governed by their own privacy policies and terms of service, and we do not control how they collect, use, or share data when you use their services. You may be able to manage what is shared with us through your settings in your Google or Facebook account.
We do not intentionally use tracking pixels or advertising tools that share your tax return information with Google, Facebook (Meta), or other advertising platforms, and we do not permit these companies to use your tax return information to target you with advertising.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our current or former customers to anyone, except as described below or as required or permitted by law.
We may disclose information:
To the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), state and local tax authorities, and other government agencies as necessary to file your returns, respond to audits or inquiries, or comply with legal obligations.
To Drake Software and other vendors that provide technology, hosting, document storage, or support services for our practice, but only to the extent needed to deliver those services and subject to confidentiality and security obligations.
To other parties when you direct us to do so or give your consent, such as your lender, financial advisor, or other professionals.
As otherwise required by law, court order, or legal process.
We do not disclose your information to others for their own solicitation or marketing purposes.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those members of our firm who need it to provide services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including secure storage of paper files, password-protected systems, and secure transmission methods for electronic filing and document exchange.
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide services to you, to maintain required business and tax records, and to comply with applicable laws and professional standards. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it in a manner designed to protect your privacy, such as secure shredding or deletion.
You may:
Update or correct certain contact information by contacting our office or, where available, through your client portal.
Request copies of tax returns we have prepared for you, subject to applicable rules and record-keeping requirements.
Withdraw consent for certain optional communications, such as marketing or informational emails, while still receiving required service and legal notices.
Federal tax privacy rules and other applicable laws may limit certain rights.
Our services are directed to adults and business entities and are not intended for children under 13. We may collect information about dependents as necessary to prepare tax returns, but we do so only from their parents or guardians or as permitted by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date and post the new policy on this website. Your continued use of our services after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
