W-2s

If your business paid wages, you must prepare a W-2 for each wage earner and submit it with a Form W-3 to the Social Security Administration by February 28th.

W-2 should be sent to each recipient by January 31st. Like 1099s, the W-2s must be machine-readable and legibly entered on the red-inked forms.

Mail to:

Small employers can make your own W-2s FREE online and directly file them to the Social Security Administration. You register an account and make the W-2 online. Copies can be printer for employees, the state and your own records.

If you have 10 or fewer W-2 the MN copy of each can just be mailed to:
Minnesota Revenue
Mail Station 1173
St. Paul, MN 55146-1173

More than 10 W-2s require e-filing to Minnesota. We cannot provide you with this service so I recommend getting a filer who can serve you with both Federal and State filing by either (Google: e-file W-2 service):

1) E-filing via an internet provided service
or
2) Contact John Tonsager, who has worked with us for several tax seasons.
